The Submission Process
When submitting your initial manuscript, send:
— One (1) single manuscript file (which includes manuscript text, tables, figure captions and figures).
— Cover letter to editor (email to rundellmollusca@gmail.com)
— Contact the editor to determine how to submit the manuscript if file sizes exceed 10 MB.
— You should receive a confirmation letter with an identifying manuscript number within ten (10) working days.
— If you do not receive a confirmation letter within that timeframe, please contact the business manager at malacologia@gardner-webb.edu.
Once the manuscript is accepted, you must provide high resolution graphic files (TIFFs) to the advisory editor Dr. Thomas Wilke at tom.wilke@allzool.bio.unigiessen.de.
— For other file formats or any questions regarding the electronic submission of graphics, contact the advisory editor.
— Keep individual file sizes below 10 MB.
— Use the “LZW compression option” which will greatly reduce TIFF file sizes.
Article Reprints
Reprints can be ordered when the proof is returned to the copy editor.
Contact Dr. David Campbell, Business Office at malacologia@gardner-webb.edu for reprints.
Later orders cannot be considered.
When 100 or more reprints are ordered, an author will receive 25 additional copies free of charge.
PDF files of the paper for personal use are available with a purchase of reprints; free of charge for subscribers* to Malacologia.
— Color figures must be paid-for by the author. Costs are U.S. $300 for the first color page in a paper and U.S. $150 for each subsequent color page.
— Page costs must be paid prior to publication.
Page Costs
Page cost recovery charges are calculated as follows:
Regular Subscribers*
Non-student: 10 pages free (paper is less than 30 pages), 15 pages free (paper is 30 pages or more); U.S. $35.00 for reach additional page (EAP)
Student**: 10 pages free (paper is less than 30 pages), 15 pages free (paper is equal or greater than 30 pages); U.S. $20.00 EAP
Non-Subscribers
Non-student: 8 pages free (paper is less than 30 pages), 10 pages free (paper is 30 pages or more); U.S. $60.00 for reach additional page (EAP)
Student**: 10 pages free (paper is less than 30 pages), 15 pages free (paper is 30 pages or more); U.S. $30.00 EAP
A reduction or elimination of page charges may be possible under certain circumstances by arrangement with the editor. A reduction of page charges may be negotiated for papers exceeding 30 pages.
